CARF International has awarded Northern Transitions, Inc. another three-year accreditation.  This is the result of an extensive review of services, business practices and input from our business partners and those we serve.

DID YOU KNOW THAT DURING FISCAL YEAR 2011:

  • Northern Transitions served 118 individuals 

  • NTI paid recipients received $ 465,254 in wages and benefits 

  • 50 individuals received Community Employment Services 

  • 21 individuals received Placement Services 

  • Placed individuals averaged 15.5 hours of work per week

  • Average hourly wage of persons served in Community Employment was $7.75

  • Jet, formerly Work First supported approximately 499 individuals(parents or non-cash aid recipients)referred by Department of Human Services or local courts in searching for employment. 221 participants became employed full time.

  • Transition Services 12th Annual Student Organized Transition Fair April 2011 involved 1,665 participants.

  • 45 local employers supported community employment services.

  • Wages earned from CES participants in the community are estimated at $53,089 for this year.

Each year, the United Way of the EUP hosts the Hunting for Heroes Chili Cookoff fundraiser.  Northern Transitions, Inc. has participated for four years, and finally spiced it up enough to take 2nd Pl.November 14, 2011.  Thanks to all who participated. We Help Put People to Work!

Northern Transitions, Inc. is a private non-profit Michigan corporation, that provides a wide range of vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with a variety of barriers to employment who reside in the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Services include evaluation, supported employment, community placement and numerous types of employment within the organization for individuals who require a high level of continued support.

Mission Statement:

  • Providing opportunities through employment, training and education to individuals overcoming barriers so they may self-determine their role in the community.
